It is with great sadness we announce the passing Vi Davis on Feb 24, 2021. Grandmother, mother, wife, sister and friend. She was surrounded with love and her family by her side. Vi was born in Winnipeg’s West End to parents George and Caroline (Carrie) Faulkner. She grew up in Winnipeg, attended Greenway and General Wolfe schools and graduated from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. She worked for Aikens McCauley Law for many years in Winnipeg and Ladner Downs Law in Vancouver.
Vi was predeceased by her husband Gilbert (Gib) Davis in 1999, her parents, her sister Roberta as well as several brothers-in-law.
She leaves behind, with wonderful memories, her daughter Sandra Davis, her son Scott (Bobbi), her grandchildren Caroline and Josh Samorodin, dear friend Kim Robinson and many nieces and nephews.
Vi and Gib built a cottage on Lake of the Woods while living in Winnipeg. Many years of hard work and of course fun, were had there. Making lifelong friends, sharing special occasions, BBQ’s, swimming and boating. After selling their cottage and moving to Vancouver, Vi continued her love of lake life by spending time every summer with her sister Roberta at the Rafter family cottage on Brereton Lake. She will be missed by her many friends from her bridge club, Book Club, Alumnae Group, Probus Group. Vi also loved reading, bridge club, baking, curling and spending time with her family.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and all the wonderful staff at Lions Gate Hospital and the North Vancouver Hospice. Also, a special thank you to Mary who is a nurse at both facilities.
There will be a private family service of interment of ashes in Winnipeg this summer.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The North Vancouver Hospice.
“Until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.”
