Passed away peacefully on June 11, 2012, surrounded by his family following a brief and valiant battle with illness. Ed is survived by his loving wife; Evelyn, his son; Daryl, daughter; Sharon, daughter-in-law; Joanna and grandchildren; Kimberly, Patrick, Stephanie and Hilary. Ed was born on March 9, 1933and spent his early years in very humble surroundings in South Slocan, B.C. He was a gifted student in high school and university. He chose dentistry as his profession and excelled at the University of Alberta where he received the gold medal for top standing in his class for four consecutive years. After completing dental school in 1963, Ed and his family moved to B.C. and settled on the North Shore where he opened his practice at Westview Centre followed by a second office in Caulfield Centre in the 1990’s. He loved his profession and built one of the largest practices on the North Shore. His loyal following of patients kept him practicing to the ripe age of 78. Ed was also an avid sportsman. He loved playing tennis and squash and getting as much golf in as he could with his family and friends. But it was the fellowship that came with playing sports that he cherished most. He spent much of his later years travelling with his beloved Evelyn to Mexico and on cruises and will always be remembered by his family and friends for his huge heart. He loved his family and was an inspiration to them as a husband, a father, a grandfather and as a man. Ed was one of a kind. His zest for life, his optimism and his kindness will be sorely missed. There will be a service celebrating the life of Edward Clark at 2:30pm on Wednesday June 27th, 2012 at West Vancouver United Church at 2062 Esquimalt Avenue. In lieu of flowers, kindly send a tribute donation in honour of Edward Clark to Lions Gate Hospital Foundation. For those wishing to share a memory of Ed, please go to www.hollyburnfunerals.com
