He was born on March 23, 1942 in Tonga, the son of Sione Malu Tupola and Puafisi Finau Tupola. He attended college in Suva University in Fiji, majoring in Agriculture. Uatesoni married his sweetheart Malia Kahoa Filipine, they had four children.
Uatesoni worked as a farmer he was a hard worker and very detailed oriented, he would take his time to ensure planting was done correctly. He was the Head of the Liahona High School Plantation Department, running all of the school farm. In 1980 he moved his family to California, where he worked at the dairy farm with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Around 1990 he moved to Hawaii, where he retired from overseeing the King of Tonga's Plantation.
Uatesoni enjoyed doing genealogy and studying the scriptures. He was a faithful member and served is various callings including as Sunday School President and as Elders Quorum President. Uatesoni was very knowledgeable, he often shared his love of the scriptures, frequently being the family and friend mentor, teaching and helping to answer questions concerning the doctrine.
He was the best dad and grandpa, helping his posterity stay close to the Lord, encouraging them to stay on the straight and narrow path. He was an outdoorsman and created memories with his family, fishing, camping and other various outdoor activities.

Survived by his children: Kolositina (Siaosi) Fifita, Spanish Fork; Koleni (Seini) Tupola, West Valley City; Teneli (Oreta) Tupola, Orem; and Isitolo (Mataua) Tupola, Orem; 7 grandchildren: Tihani, Malia, Teneli, Tauhi, Isis, Zachary,and James, and 2 great-grandchildren Uatesoni and Tauhi. Also survived by his siblings: Likivai Hikila, Ma'ufanga, Tonga; Asi (Api) Taufu'i, Eua, Tonga; Moni (Ofa) Pututau, Glendale; Sepa (Seni) Toki, Pomona, CA; Samuela (Tangikina) Tupola, Rialto, CA; Nuku (Saineha) Tupola, Kahuku, HI; Teleni (Heilala) Tausinga, Kahuku, HI, and Sione (Vika) Tupola, Fontana, CA.
Uatesoni also proudly raised three 'bonus' children; Sepeti Tu'itupou, Sositine Pututau and Alani Latu.
Preceded in death by his sweetheart, Malia K. Tupola, his parents and siblings Lesieli Latu and Pita V. Tupola. and sister-in-law Vika Tupola.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 28, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at the Granger 8th Ward Chapel, 3300 South 4440 West, West Valley City, UT. Family will gather prior to the service from 8:00 - 11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Valley View Memorial Park.
