Rob was born to Roy and Betty Oliver on August 27, 1946 in Murray, Utah. Rob passed away November 22, 2024 in West Valley City, Utah. Rob and his four younger siblings were raised in Murray, Utah and enjoyed being around all the Oliver family.
Rob married Nadine Holman on April 21, 1980. They enjoyed 44 years together, creating a beautiful life and family that Rob was proud of. Rob was the father of 5 children; Stacey (David), Kelly (Becca), Cory (Melissa), Justin (Allie), and Samantha (Nick).
Rob served 5 years in the Army Reserves. Rob worked at Kennecott Copper for 34 years, a jack of all trades in his work. Hard work and dedication were a couple of his greatest traits. For 20 years Rob was a 2nd generation umpire. Umpiring Little League and local high school baseball, along with slow pitch softball. He also coached Little League, trying to squeeze in as much time as he could in his long days. One of his favorite places was on the diamond or watching the Yankees play. Rob loved watching football, Notre Dame and Kansas City Chiefs were always on TV at his home. Rob enjoyed making memories traveling and being in the outdoors, fishing and hunting were favorites. Golfing, both playing and watching in person or on TV, was a great pastime as well. Rob had hobbies of building train sets and model airplanes. Many years were also spent at the bowling alley, it is where he met the love of his life. In Rob’s later years, he loved lounging with his shih tzus; Maggie, Morgan, and Bullseye, while he completed his crosswords and cryptograms.
Survived by his wife, Nadine; 5 children; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; Sisters: Marla (Ron), Karen (Dave), and Julie (Reed); Brother, Sam (Sue); Sisters-in-law: Noni and Noreen (Craig); Mother-in-law, JoeAnne; and numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
Preceded in death by his Parents; Grandparents; Father-in-law, Huston; Brother-in-law, Whooper; and numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
