Paul Earl Kalp, age 80, passed away on May 4, 2024 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Paul was born on January 1, 1944 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to James Earl Kalp and Phyllis Margaret Gill. Paul married Sheryl Whitmill on May 30, 1981 in West Valley City, Utah. He was affiliated with the Salvation Army.
Paul was a master craftsman who found joy in woodworking, creating intricate pieces that reflected both his skill and his love for the natural beauty of wood. When he wasn’t in his workshop, you could find him on the basketball court, dribbling and shooting hoops with his daughters, their laughter echoing through the air. He had a knack for latch hook rugs, patiently weaving vibrant patterns that adorned the walls of his home in warmth and color. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his grandchildren, delighting in their laughter and endless energy. In his beloved garden, he nurtured a haven of greenery, his hands tending to each plant with care and dedication. Paul’s legacy of love, creativity, and devotion will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
Surviving Relatives include Wife: Sheryl (Sheri) Kalp; Children: Annette (Adam), Lisa, and Kim (Alex); Siblings: George (Pat), David (Doreen), and Dale (Janice); Grandchildren: 9; Great Grandchildren: 6.
