Luanne Walters

Luanne was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Friend. She married Donald Robert Walters on May 27, 1960, in the Salt Lake City Temple. They were blessed with four children who miss them both greatly.

Luanne had several jobs throughout her life, including working for R.D. Christensen DDS, Hunter Jr. High, Granger High, and IHC. She made life-long friends at every job she worked.

Luanne loved to travel, as evidenced by her personalized license plate “RDY2GO” and was always planning the next vacation. She had many talents including crocheting and playing the piano. She always had a recommendation for a good book, loved to go to the movies and loved to eat out – her favorite home cooked meal was at any restaurant.

She was preceded in death by her mother, brother John and sister Karla, as well as her husband Don.

She is survived by her brother DeVern (Pam), her children, Kathy (Darren), Jerry (Jodi), Wendy (Todd) and Vicky (Shawn). Her ten grandchildren who she loved to spoil and who all have wonderful memories of the time they spent with her: Andy, Cassie (Joe), Sammy, Noah, Tyler (Michelle), Justin, Nick (Brontay), Krezlun, Colton and Mikayla. She was also blessed to spend time with her three great-grandchildren: Indie, Kenzie & Colson.

The family would like to thank Carlee Atkinson – for her devoted care and friendship along with Shauntel and Sonnie from Good Shepherd Hospice, as well as the many other friends and neighbors who spent time with Luanne in her last days.

There will be a graveside service held at Valley View Memorial Park (4335 W. 4100 S. in West Valley, UT) at 12:00 on January 14, 2023. Luanne insisted that we have a party instead of a funeral, so please join us for a celebration of life that same afternoon at the LDS church building located at 4950 S. 1950 W. Taylorsville, UT from 1:00-3:00.
