Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Helen Louise Brown, 90, passed away on December 30, 2022 in Murray, Utah. She was born on July 6, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Victor Gray/Alma Joseph Gardner and Viola Richins. She later graduated from Granite High School and Westminster College, with a BS in education. After graduation from college, she auditioned for the Metropolitan Opera, and was accepted. However, she decided to focus on starting her family instead.
Louise continued with her love of music through church programs, piano and voice lessons. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Louise always kept her love of Christ and the Gospel as a focal point in her life. She loved nothing more than being a mother to her 5 children. She would happily sacrifice anything and everything to provide for her family. Teaching was something else close to her heart. In 1996 Louise received the “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers” award for the outstanding teacher that she was. With her love dedication to teaching she didn’t retire until she was in her 70’s. Even then, she only retired because her health made it impossible to teach. During her retirement she was dedicated to being a wonderful grandma and great grandma. We love and miss her dearly.
Louise is survived by her children: Terry (Joan), Robin, Scott, Kathy (Ray), Jay (Jyl); siblings Linda and Joe; 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Dennis Scott Brown
Funeral services for Louise will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 11am at the LDS Church on 5425 South 600 West in Murray, Utah.
