Mom was the second daughter of Eric Daniel and Doris Hodgsen Nordberg. Sister of Marion Paskett. She lived in SLC most of her life and endured the hardships of the Great depression and WW2. She graduated East High School in 1945. Married Bob L. Williams in 1947 and moved to Logan, UT, then several years later back to SLC. She was a stay-at-home mom having 3 sons and 1 daughter: Bob, Lynn, Dianne and Darrell. A full-time job all on its own.
Mom, without you none of us would be here. Everyone needs a starting point, and you are ours. Each of us in our own way have memories of growing up. Some special memories, playing cars with mom, guessing how many cars would come down the street waiting for dad to get home. I remember her countless hours ironing for neighbors and relatives. She was also a cub scout mom for several years. She loved Sunday dinners with family. Her favorite holidays were Sundays, July 24th and Christmas were the best, always ending up at our house for food, dancing and horseshoes and fun for all. What wonderful times!
As kids got older, she began her working career & the family grew and changed. Mom would help us all by canning and sharing anything she could get her hands on. Babysitting for us, reading our kids stories and coloring with them. She also loved going out for lunches and shopping. She loved traveling the world which earned her the name "granny-go-go". She always made crafts for all the kids for holidays and even made crochet blankets for each family member. Her last blanket was small but given with a big heart.
In mom's later years she made many friends. Some of the most generous and loving friends she would ever meet. She also had her constant companions of multiple dogs all named Barney. Mom leaves a legacy of loving, being loved, and generosity to all. We have missed her these last years as Alzheimer's robbed her of her memories. We will truly miss her every day for the rest of our lives. Rest well darlin, you have earned your place in heaven. May your family and friends gone before you welcome you with open arms.
"I had a good life; I have loved and been loved. I can't remember a bad day," Amen. I'm sure we left out a lot but these things just stand out. You will always be remembered as our strong-loving-beautiful mother and grandmother.
