Larry William Lomax, age 76, returned to his Heavenly Home on 4 April 2022 in Longview, Washington. He was born on 27 February 1946 in Ogden, Utah to Elmo William Lomax and DeOn Bills Lomax. Larry joined his brother, David and sister, Sharon. The next year Kenneth came along followed by Howard and Kay completing the family.
Larry graduated from Clearfield High School in 1964 and went on to attend Weber State College in Ogden, Utah. He received his Associates Degree in Business Administration from Lower Columbia College in Longview, Washington.
Larry was drafted into the Army in June of 1966 and was sent to Fort Bliss, Texas where he completed Basic Training. He was a Squad Leader during his time at Fort Bliss. After leaving Texas he was stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma where he received training as a Fire Direction Computer Operator for the Artillery. Fort Bragg was his next stop where he was with the 7th Battalion 15th Artillery. In June 1967 his Battalion was shipped out to Vietnam where he spent the next year. He received an Honorable discharge in June of 1968 and an Army Commendation Medal for his time in Vietnam.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and photography. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He love the 8 year that Pam and him served in the Portland Temple as Ordinance Workers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Pamla Lomax; children: Troy (Amy) Lomax of Cathlamet, WA; Bryan (Ellene) Lomax of Longview, WA; Shane (Aubrey) Lomax of Layton, UT; Justin Lomax of Rainier, OR; Brett Lomax of Kelso, WA; and Shalese Lomax (Austin) Woolett of Grantsville, UT; step-children: Michelle Ernst (Rex) Reber of Oakland, OR; Marsha Ernst of Squamish, WA; and Mark (Julie) Ernst of Grantsville, UT; brother, David (Char) Lomax of AZ; sister, Kay Lomax Hover of Layton, UT; mother-in-law, Elsie Eby of Ogden, UT; sister-in-law, Diane Eby of Ogden, UT and brother-in-law, Mark (Nancy) Eby of Pasco, WA; 22 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Elmo William Lomax and DeOn Bills Lomx; brothers, Howard Lomax & Kenneth Lomax and sister, Sharon Lomax Hansen.
In honor of Larry’s legacy funeral services are scheduled for Monday, 18 April 2022 at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1721 30th Avenue in Longview, Washington with a viewing one hour prior to the services.
Interment will take place Thursday, April 21, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Grantsville City Cemetery, 385 W. Main Street, Grantsville, Utah.
