Our beloved Dana K. Graham McLeod was born on June 28, 1946 in Provo, Utah to Kathryn and Robert Graham. She lost her father “Bob” to a heart attack when she was only five. She also had an older sister, Margo who died around 20 years ago as did her Mother. When Dana was 16, her mother married Burt Terry who was the former CEO of the Geneva Works steel mill in Orem, thereby becoming Kathryn Terry.
Dana went on to attend and graduate from Westminster College in the mid-60s. She later met Bob McLeod and became man and wife for 26 years. They divorced in 1994 and a year later she met Ron Overman who became the love of her life and companion until the time of her death.
Ron and Dana connected from the time they met and become eternal soul mates through many experiences and through trial and error. They called each other at least 15 times a day throughout their relationship. In 1996, Dana and Ron went back to Des Moines, Iowa on their first long road trip, to meet his folks, Don and Anne Overman. They immediately liked her; unfortunately, Don died a month later in October 1996.
Through the years, Ron and Dana, went on many road trips, short and long. In addition, when Ron purchased his new home in May of 2000, he had Dana over for dinner, drinks and conversation almost every weekend. More importantly, in everyday life, they used each other as “sounding boards” for everyday challenges and problems. Dana was Ron’s strongest supporter and had great faith in him, as a man. It’s important to have the undying support of your woman, in today’s world and Dana was that person. She is irreplaceable as a woman and a human being.
Dana worked in retail and with the public most of her life. Working primarily at Western Gardens, Smith’s Grocery and Walgreens. She also worked a small stint at Air Touch Paging. Dana was loved by her customers due to her bright personality and real concern for all those she came in contact with. She had a great sense of humor and made Ron laugh many times.
In the last ten years of her life, Dana was challenged with health problems, but complained very little. She had high blood pressure, deep vein thrombosis, poor circulation in her legs, just to name a few, and yet she managed to do her job. It was on November 5, 2019 that she had a stroke. After months of rehab and trying everything to bounce back to being functional again, she fell out of her wheel chair and bumped her head. After her fall her condition worsened until she passed on February 17, 2020 in Sandy, Utah. “Dana we love you with all our hearts and you will never be forgotten. You will finally be united with your dear mother, Kathryn and Dad, Bob Graham.”
