On October 5th, 2022, Carol Margaret Pierce, 84, joined her sweetheart Lee after her final journey home. Carol was born May 1st, 1938 to Clifford and Peg Wright. The older sister of George, Carol adored her little brother and missed him fiercely since his passing. As a young girl, with her family, Carol moved from Nova Scotia, Canada to Massachusetts where she was raised and would later meet her husband Lee. Carol and Lee’s love story progressed quickly as they were married after a few short months of courting. Shortly after they welcomed their three children, Leesa, Sherill, and Larry. They moved their family to Utah in 1970 and settled their family in West Valley City.
Carol was passionate about fashion. She valued beautiful clothing, handbags, trendy styles, and the perfect shade of a coral lipstick. Her favorite hobbies included coffee with her girlfriends and weeknight card games, but nothing compared to her love for the game of Bingo. She was exceptional at managing up to six cards at once with multiple daubers. It was a true sight to behold to watch her play! Carol was always on the go and she knew how to make people laugh. She was fiercely authentic and true to herself. She was always honest, straightforward, and wasn’t shy about sharing her thoughts or feelings.
Carol’s life was not absent of sorrow, but she handled it all with grace and her strength was exemplified through every hardship she faced. Losing two of her children and husband most certainly broke her heart in ways that could never be repaired. But she maintained her vibrant spirit and will to not just carry on but also truly live her life.
Carol is survived by her daughter Sherill, who she often lovingly referred to as “my girl”, grandchildren Nathan (Liz) Pierce, Mandi (Bart) Richins, Mallorie (Michael) Leavitt, Ashlee Pierce, Braxton Pierce, Niece Christine Zecker, Nephew David Wright, and multiple great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father and mother Clifford and Peg, brother George, sister-in-law Violet, husband Lee Pierce, daughter Leesa Pierce, and son Larry Pierce.
