To Chris, the girls and all of Alex's family whom I've never met,

Sending love and condolences to each one. Alex was a remarkable woman and I greatly admired her. She had such strength and courage and a very strong faith, which are admirable traits. 

It was a pleasure to have been in her company the few times we were able to be together. 

She will be greatly missed by Mary and I. Our love goes out to each and every one of you.

Valerie I am very sorry for your loss. Alex was a great friend and a lovely person. A real privilege to have had her as a friend. Thinking of her puts a smile on my face! So brave and generous. She is resting now and will be  looking out for you always. Lots of love to you all and I will be here for you if you ever need it! I said that to your mum and I really mean it. Alex’s infectious smile and laughter will not soon be forgotten nor will her memory fade from those who were lucky enough to know and love this gem of a human being.  It is rare to find someone so willing to work and sacrifice for the benefit of others the way she did.  I have no doubt her memory and legacy will live on and will shine brightest in the smile of her daughter Val.  There aren’t enough flowers on the earth to pay tribute to this beautiful lady.  She had heart of gold, a back bone of steel and the laughter of an angel.  Our hearts go out to her dear family and friends as we convey our deepest condolences for this tremendous loss.  Val is so right when she said this world is a better place because she existed in the beautiful tribute she made for her mother.  Our hearts and prayers are especially with Val and Chris who have endured such a devastating experience with a heartbreaking end.  I pray Valery knows and  is always able to feel like the source of joy and pride she has always been for her parents.  I have no doubt she will continue to make Alex proud as a living legacy of everything good and beautiful she was.  May the memory of her infectious laughter and her enduring love light the way forward for those dearest to her and may her strength of spirit inspire all of us to be as brave, strong and good as she always was.  I pray her family and the others she loved so deeply feel her presence and our unending respect and gratitude for the ways she touched our lives. I worked with Alex at the Salt Lake Convention and Visitors Bureau. We both worked in the Tourism Department, and I’m just super-saddened to learn of her passing. I consider her my friend, and it hurts my heart to learn of her passing. She is gone too soon … way too young. Rest in peace Alex … until we meet again.
