Bill was born in Massachusetts on August 5, 1957, a son of the late Alfred and Phyllis (Doherty) Bove. He graduated from Framingham North High School and attended Framingham State College in Massachusetts. Bill proudly served his country with the US Airforce as a WE4 Sargent.
Bill resided in Florida for many years.
An avid runner in his early years, he ran his first unofficial Boston Marathon at 13 years of age and went on to complete several official marathons thereafter. Due to a knee injury, where running was no longer an option, his passion was transitioned to bicycles, and he became an avid cyclist.
Throughout his career he worked at many bike shops in sales/mechanics, including his own business, Fat Cat Bicycles.
He was a fixture in the South Florida cycling community, earning many nick names, such as The King of A1A, The Bike Monk and The Guy in Pink to name a few.Through his love of cycling, Bill was blessed with many dear friends. His kindness and compassion were felt by all. In addition to his parents Bill was preceded in death by his Brother Michael Bove.
Surviving Bill are his sisters; Nancy (Bove) Onorato, (Joseph) Onorato of Whitinsville, MA, Patricia (Bove) Silveira, (Manuel) Silveira of Lake Worth, FL, Barbara (Bove) Blizard, (Kevin) Blizard of Exeter, NH, and Melissa (Bove) Estrada of Lake Worth, FL .Also surviving are his nieces; Colleen Onorato of Revere Beach, MA, Stacey Silveira of Lake Worth, FL, and Paige Stephenson of West Palm Beach, FL, his nephews, Joseph M. Onorato (Kerrie) of Whitinsville, MA, Daniel Silveira of Lake Worth, FL, and Alexander Stephenson of Rifle, CO, and several great nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Friends are invited to join the family to celebrate Bill’s life on Monday, April 29, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center & Hillcrest Memorial Park. 6411 Parker Ave. West Palm Beach, FL 33405.
Bill supported many charities. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association, Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA) or a charity of your choice in Bill’s honor.
