My condolences to the family. I just saw a post on Facebook that said she had passed. Mrs. Sullivan was my 6th math teacher (class of 1970), and I loved her dearly. She was kind and an excellent teacher. Mrs. Sullivan invited me to her church the Sunday I got saved. I later joined New Testament Baptist Church, the church that she and Mr. Sullivan attended. Her influence was one of the reasons I became a teacher too. I just retired from Miami-Dade County Public Schools this year.  I can only hope that I have been just a portion of the blessing and example of Christian love to my students that she was to us.   

My condolences to Ms. Sullivan's family. She was my 5th grade teacher and I always remembered her with pure love in my heart.  What a Blessing she was to many as an Educator.

I was in Ms. Sullivan’s 5 th grade class in 88 . That year I lost my father and that was the hardest thing I had went through at that point. When Mrs.Sullivan learned that I lost my father and that I found him  that way. She was very sympathetic and understanding. She was there for me and my mother if we needed anything. I was very grateful to have her as a teacher. She helped make the rest of that school year a little easier for me to deal with. I have thought about her many times in my life and always remember her sweet & caring spirit. She absolutely made a difference in my life.

I just heard of Mrs.Sullivan’s passing and I wanted to say a few words to her family. She was my 5th grade teacher in  1982ish. She left such an impression in my life. It was the first teacher I felt that was rooting for me. I thrived  in her class and it was all because of her. Her stern but gentle manner with a heart of gold is what we needed. Her class was difficult but fun. She was a true Southern Lady and I Have thought of her often throughout the years. She definitely made my life better but just knowing her. My condolences to her family.

I remember Ms. Sullivan with nothing but love and she taught us well. She was a classy lady. She was decent and an incredible teacher.

Ms. SULLIVAN was my teacher in 5th grade. Best teacher I ever had. We would talk always in class about God and the Bible verses.

I was very saddened to hear Mrs. Sullivan had passed away.  She was my teacher at Flamingo Elementary in 1967-1968 and a very influential person in my life. We reconnected through Facebook and was pleasantly surprised she actually remembered me after all these years. Her FB account was deactivated but I shared the obituary on our Flamingo Elementary page. I think reading all the wonderful things her former students wrote about her would warm your heart. 

It was good to know my friend is now in Heaven and is feeling no pain. I came to know Lucille in Florida when she taught at New Testament Baptist Church in Hialeah Florida.  George and she were charter members there.  and served along with her husband George one of the most encouraging and best friends I had. I was there for many years where I served in many capacities teaching and as the 6th Grade Sunday school supernatant.   Later they moved to West Palm, and we stayed in touch.  I had many good phone conversations with my friend even after I move to North Carolina in 1998.  I can rejoice in her homecoming!!

I am rejoicing that Lucille is home now with her Lord Jesus & George, parents & other loved ones & friends who have gone before. I then think of the loss her remaining siblings & loved ones feel & am asking our Heavenly Father to comfort them as only He can do.

I loved my sister in Christ & will greatly miss our chats as we enjoyed our times together. 

Lucille and I both married into the Sullivan family. She immediately became a special part of this loving family. She and I continued our Sullivan family bond over the years. I will miss exchanging special occasion cards and lengthy phone calls with her. Lucille’s love and care will always be remembered.

Aunt Lucille was my last living great aunt. I will miss the conversations we had. She always made sure I knew my parents and grandparents would be proud of me and told me she loved me before we ended our conversation. Will miss her dearly.

We can’t go back and change the mistakes of our past, but we can look to her as a shining example of how best to live out the remaining time we have, with loving gentleness, kindness, and an unfailing thankfulness and reliance on the good Lord’s tender Grace and Mercy.

I can almost hear my dad saying, here comes my sister Lucille!
I hope to see her again one day.
