Mary Kathleen Ryan

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, October 26, 2015. She is survived by her High School sweetheart and loving husband of 48 years Eddy Ryan. Three daughters: Kathy Bensen (Ed) of Anderson, SC. Teresa Giddis (Brent) of West Palm Beach (WPB), FL. and Marian Witzel (Rob) of Gainesville, FL. Three brothers: Pat Cass (Judie) of Trenton, FL. Tim Cass (Pat) of San Diego, CA. and Dennis Cass (Sondra) of WPB, FL. One sister: Patricia Smith (Tommy) of St Matthews, SC. and a loving step father Robert “Bob” Perry. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, two great granddaughters, and her most spoiled companions Lilly and Lucy. She is preceded in death by her father Paul Cass, mother Mary Cass, and her brother Michael P Cass.

Kate is a true Floridian, born in St Petersburg in 1948 and raised in WPB. She graduated from Forest Hill High in 1966. Kate had a full and joyful life with all of her extended family and friends. An avid NASCAR fan, she also enjoyed golfing, fishing, barbershop harmony, bluegrass and country music, Ancient Aliens, The Weather Channel, and feeding the critters in the back yard (all with names). Kate retired from Palm Beach Day Academy after 34 years of service. She truly enjoyed working with the students and faculty during her tenure. Kate is also a proud member of the American Legion Post 47 Auxiliary.

The family will have visitation on Saturday from 12pm-2pm at QUATTLEBAUM FUNERAL, CREMATION & EVENT CENTER at HILLCREST, 6411 Parker Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33405. A private service will be held on a later date. The family request that in lieu of flowers that you make a contribution to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Ave., West Palm beach, FL 33407, or the veteran organization of your choice.
