Mary “June” Bennett, 90 years old, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015, at her home in Port St. Lucie, FL. June was born in Lake Worth, FL, and as a young child, moved to Gloucester City, New Jersey, graduating from Gloucester High School in 1943. She married her high school sweetheart, Norman Bennett in 1945, and in 1959 moved to Palm Springs, Florida where she worked for Patten’s Inflatables for 20 years. Norm and June retired in Port St. Lucie where they enjoyed golfing and gardening. June was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Port St. Lucie. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Norman in 2005, and her daughter, Melody J. Lemos in 2004.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Miller (Thomas) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and Cynthia A. Johnson of Lake Worth, FL; sons, Norman Bennett (Kathy) of Palm Springs, FL and Jeffrey Bennett of Port St. Lucie, FL. Additional survivors include her grandchildren, David Silnutzer (Kathy Gunn), Michael Silnutzer (Julie), E. Lynne Anderson (Brian), Angela Nelms (Clayton), Amber Bennett (Mike Callaway), Jenefer Bennett, Joseph Bennett, and Darlene Lemos; as well as great grandchildren, Robert F. Anderson, Robert Reardon, Jr., Clayton Nelms, Jr., Justin Silnutzer, Bradley Nelms, Jessica Silnutzer, Micayla Callaway, Landon Bennett and Summer Koons; sisters-in-law June Yerkes and Beatrice Bennett; brother-in-law Bob Bennett; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:15 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015, at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida.
