James ( Jim) Louis Slater passed away Monday, August 23, 2021. He is survived by his brother, Edward Slater of Palm Beach County, FL, his sister and brother-in-law, LaVerne and Carl Abbott of Dallas, Ga, three nieces and many cousins. He is predeceased by his parents, Edward Maurice and Ozzie (Marie) Slater, and his wife of forty-nine years, Mary Ann Slater.
Jim graduated from Forest Hills High School in West Palm Beach, Florida where he played football. He was a Navy veteran and also served in the Navy Reserves and Coast Guard Reserve. He worked for the state of Florida in Water Management.
He had a life long interest in the outdoors, sports and cars.
His funeral is on Tuesday, August 23 at Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 6411 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida. Visitation will be at 10:00. The Funeral service will be at 11:00. Internment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery adjacent to the funeral home following the service.
