Brian James LaSalle was born to Robert William LaSalle and Sandra Marie Masso, June 13th 1976, in Providence Rhode Island. Brian is survived by his 19 year old daughter Samantha Rose, father Robert LaSalle, mother Sandra Masso, brother Nicholas Masso, a number of uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews, and his pitbull of nearly 12 years named after his lifelong love of everything dragon related, Drako. Brian was a man who truly LIVED life. In a world where it is very common to spend our days preparing for doomsday and missing the glorious beauty of the moment, Brian really had a strong appreciation of God’s generous gift of today. Brian thrived on the experiences and opportunities of the day and he made sure to share it with everyone around him. He was a bright light in a dark room and his magnetic presence could be felt by everyone he came in contact with. Brian was also a very religious man at heart. Whenever life got heavy and cumbersome as it will tend to do for us all, Brian would find a renewed strength in his personal relationship with the Lord. He would routinely refresh his spirit and recharge his motivation in church. One passage from Mark 12:28 in The Bible reminds me of Brian’s life. The religious leaders are questioning Jesus and they ask, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” Jesus’ reply is that the most important commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength. Jesus took it a step further and stated that following very closely would be the commandment to love your neighbor as you would yourself. Anyone who knew Brian would say that he loved and honored God. He depended on God for strength and correction. Brian also honored the second charge from Jesus to love our neighbor. Brian went above and beyond for anyone he came in contact with. He sought out families in need to give them a Christmas they otherwise would never have experienced. He gave of himself when he did not have to and sometimes when he couldn’t even provide for himself.Brian is a true disciple of Christ and an honored friend to many. Anyone blessed enough to have their life touched by Brian will miss him dearly. He has moved onto his final promotion in eternity and I am truly happy that he has found the peace and happiness he did his best to share with all of us.
