Beverly Beacham Melear passed away on June 13, 2011 after suffering from an extended bout of pneumonia. Beverly was born on June 29, 1928 in West Palm Beach, Florida. She graduated from Palm Beach High School, having attended Palm Beach School since first grade. After graduation, Beverly attended Brenau University in Gainesville, Georgia for a year. She transferred to Stetson University in Deland, when she was a sophomore. At the age of 20, she married her husband of 60 years, Richard Charles Melear, on September 2, 1948. She lived and worked in West Palm Beach. She raised her four children in Lake Clarke Shores, and participated in her local Garden Club, DAR, and Bridge groups, as well as in her children’s Parent Association.
Beverly is survive by three of her four children, Erik Melear of Orlando, Melynda Melear of West Palm Beach, and Zachary Melear of Charlotte, North Carolina, as well as seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Justine, Evan, and Maura Melear, and Savannah, Flannery and Madelyn Winchester, and her brother, Horace Beacham, Jr. Her death is preceded by her son, Jeffrey Melear, as well as her parents, Horace Beacham, Sr. and Margaret Beacham Robertson.
Visitation with the family will take place on Thursday, June 16th from 6PM – 8PM, and a Service will be held 12 Noon on Friday, June 17th at Mizell-Faville-Zern Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 6411 Parker Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33405, (561) 833-4061.
