Barbara J. Bursey

Barbara Bursey of Royal Palm Beach went home to be with Jesus, her Lord, on July 8, 2023, at Hospice of Palm Beach County. She was born on June 11, 1933, to Daniel and Eleanor Collinsworth and grew up in Lake Park, Florida. Barbara graduated from Palm Beach High School in 1951 and attended Florida State University. For over 50 years, she was a member of Iretta Sherman Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 145. One of her many passions was serving in the Kiwanis Club of Lake Park working with school children. Barbara served 3 years as Captain of the C.O.P. (Citizens on Patrol) of the Lake Park Sheriff’s Office. She was a School Crossing Guard for 12 years and worked with the aftercare children at Lake Park Baptist Church school. A long time Christian, she was a member of Lake Park Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and bible classes to senior adults. When she was unable to drive, she moved to Royal Palm Beach with her daughter and son-in-law and joined First Baptist Church of Wellington where she was a member until her death.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Albert (1992), father and mother, Daniel and Eleanor Collinsworth (2001) and sister Delores Dirato (2000). She is survived by her daughters Barbara Dale of Titusville, FL, and Debra Conner (Stephen) of Royal Palm Beach, FL, grandchildren Michael (Brianna) Dale of Titusville, FL, Andrea (William) Maguire of Wellington, FL, Bethany (Nathaniel) Dale of Bryans Road, Maryland and Christopher (Jessica) Conner of Clayton, North Carolina, great-grandchildren Collin Maguire, Rian Maguire and Jubilee Dale.
