Agnes S. Allison, age 81, passed away in West Palm Beach on January 25, 2014. Agnes was born to Jake and Mayme Simpson on November 2, 1932 in Middlesboro, Kentucky. Agnes was a resident of West Palm Beach from 2006 when she moved from Danville, Kentucky. She was a 1950 graduate of Elizabethtown High School, Elizabethtown,KY. She was a legal secretary and homemaker during her life and was married to George H. Allison from 1960 to his death in 2005. She is survived by her loving family of three daughters and two sons: Valerie G Herbaut “Eric” of Clarksville, TN; Tamara G Allison Shaw “William” of Eastover, NC; Kellie M Allison of West Palm Beach, FL; Michael G Allison “Mary” of Radcliff, KY; John H Allison “Beverly” of West Palm Beach, FL. Agnes also had 11 Grandchildren and 8 Great-grandchildren.
She volunteered twice a week at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center, serving snacks and smiles to the veterans in the nursing home and hospice wings of the hospital. She was an avid bridge player, and joined her friends several times each week for fun games.
A gathering of friends and family will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 with a celebration of Agnes’s life at 7:00 PM at the Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center, 5411 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33417.
Agnes’ family requests that donations be made to a veteran’s organization, such as Fisher House Foundation, Homes for Our Troops, or Wounded Warrior Project (see charitynavigator.org).
