I met Rick through a mutual friend Doug Wiggins, whose wife Bev has commented here as well. We met in about 1972 playing touch football. Rick and I developed a friendship that was enduring and cherished. We used to work out at Variety Village together and tried to do some sports building, but not successfully. I remember Rick as well as the consummate professional businessman with an unwavering sense of service and integrity. In later years although we became separated by greater distances, Rick never failed to be available for a personal chat or to address a business interest.  I will miss him as will my wife Linda.

Susan and I want to express our deepest condolences to your whole family for the loss of Rick, who played such a special role in our lives. For me, the relationship with Rick goes back 40 years to Household Finance, and it has been a very personal one (all those runs/walks and races we entered and Rick's role as the financial expert for our family). For Susan, Rick and Patty shared weekend trips throughout Ontario and weekend walks/runs and workouts. 
Rick's warmth, honesty, sense of humour, and generous nature shone through in everything he did and said. We miss him and think about him every day!  Peter and Susan Geyer

To the entire Blake Family, Noreen and I extend our deepest sympathies on the passing of Rick.  I met Rick shortly after I opened my law practice on Danforth Avenue, around 1972.  He was the manager of the local Household Finance branch, a few doors away and retained my services for the branch.  We continued our association, both business and personal from the inception of his financial  advisory services business until the present time.  My wife and I looked forward to the birthday cards each of us received from him over the many decades.

It was always a pleasure to be in touch with Rick because of his sense of humour and his positivity.  I was deeply saddened to learn of his final illness and, now, his passing.

May his memory be a blessing.

My memories of Rick start about 50 years ago when we lived in the same 4plex on Guildwood parkway.  Our girls were the same age and continue to stay in touch. Rick was always a thoughtful  caring person who could be counted on to be there whenever needed. I loved his big booming voice whenever he called
My thoughts are with Patty and the family at this difficult time. I know he and Doug have met up and might even try a run together.

 I remember when I was little he would call me 'Jennifer Leigh Alonzo Wiggins, for short but not for long'. 
I had no idea what he meant but I knew he meant it with kindness and affection.  I remember him as a very funny and thoughtful man. My sincerest condolences and long distance hugs to Patty, Kim and the whole family.  x

To the whole Blake Family, we give our deepest condolences and love  to you now. Rick was such a huge part of our family for so many glorious years. He and Patty were always there for the big events in our lives. Rick was not just a best friend, he was family. His laughter and larger than life personality will greatly be missed. 
We are blessed to have so many wonderful memories of running days, dinners shared, vacations spent together and friendship. Bless you Rick, for your time with us.

My condolences to you, Ryan and your family! I am shocked by this news. Having known your dad through my father’s association with your  family  and  then my own association , I always looked forward to coming to the office and being greeted by a friendly smile and chat! May you be comforted by all the wonderful memories you have. 

To Patty and family go my sincerest condolences on Rick’s passing. May he rest in peace and may God provide you with strength at this difficult time.
Rick and I go back almost 60 years when our cars engaged in the Trenton Community Center parking lot as we were leaving a hockey game. My car could not wait to meet up with Rick’s and after the encounter he was most gracious in accepting my apologies for my poor driving habits. Imagine my surprise when, several years later, Rick become my head office representative for assistance in generating new dealers who could refer business to the HFC office at Cedarbrae Mall. Rick was always a positive person and effective at teaching me the finer points of successfully handling dealers. He was always highly motivated which explains his success in establishing and succeeding in his financial business. Over the years, through Denny Faire, would periodically see Rick or be updated on his activities. Gone but not forgotten.
