This was the day you ascended into heaven and you are sure keeping a watch on all of us.  Sometimes I long to hear your voice and feel your touch.

On this day 5 years ago we received the most heartbreaking news.... our grandmother departed this Earth. You were the diamond of this family. You are irreplaceable. There's no other, PERFECT grandmother like you. There will forever be a missing spot in my heart. I would do anything to have you back in this life. I know you would be very proud of us all and how far we have come. There's not a day that goes by where I do not think of you or miss you. You will always be in our hearts. We miss you and love you always. Your legacy lives on within us.

Today is April 1st, 2015. 

We have turned three years of pages of our life's book so far.

To my loving, caring Grandmother, who I called Nannie,

I cannot believe it has been three years since you closed your eyes and departed this world, Nannie. Life will never ever be the same, no matter how hard anyone tries. I would do anything in this life to bring you back. However, I know that you are in such a better place away from sickness. I know that you are watching over all of us smiling. 

You are the reason that I have decided to pursue a career in Medicine. I wish that I was already a Doctor when you were alive, so I could have saved YOUR life, Nannie. Medicine is such a highly innovated field that could have done better for you. That is why I will become a Radiologist. My goal is to diagnose diseases in a shorter amount of time, so this world does not have to lose loving, caring individuals like I did. 

Nannie, I wish I could have you back with me in this life. I will always miss you dearly. But, I know you are always going to be proud of my accomplishments. Please continue to watch over me and guide me in the right path.

When corporal punishment was in store, you were always the protector of your grandchildren - sparing them from the scolding and the yelling of their parents. You never let any one of us leave feeling unappreciated, lonely, and definitely not hungry! With so many grandchildren, I imagine it sure was a challenge, but you made the time and the effort - and made sure that there was enough of you and your affection to reach us all.
