Dear Derek and Carl, Our sincere sympathy to you and your families on the passing of your dear Mom.  Anita was wonderful help to our family in the late 80's and a great friend ever since.  As my daughter said today, she left our 4 children with "warm childhood memories".

My sincerest condolences to the Bovell/Miller family. Teacher Mayglen was my first teacher outside of my home environment. She made a profound impact on me on that first day in my academic life. On arriving home at the end of the day, I announced that I wanted to be a teacher. I can proudly say that more than forty years ago I became a teacher, a vocation that has been the heart and soul of my life. May her sweet soul rest in peace and rise in glory. 

The Derick , Carl and the entire family , we send our deepest condolences to you all on the passing of your mom  from Kenrick Chance and family. May she RIP ….Our prayers are with you as you continue to morn her passing .🙏🙏🙏

On behalf of my sisters (Marcia & Michelle) and I, we hereby commiserate with the family, and friends  of 'Teacher Mayglen' 
I recalled  myself and sisters attending her kindergarten school in Stewartville. The late Teacher Mayglen was a stringent, caring and excellent tutor.  She was an adoring family friend besides being our teacher.
As a believer, 2nd Corinthians 5:8 states 'To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord' Teacher Maygen R.I.P
I encourage the family and friends to trust in Jehovah Rapha-The God that Heals according to His Will for comfort, and encouragement during this difficult time. Let the memory of the good times you spent with her be indelible.
Stewartville lost another Matriarch' but Heaven gain another soul. 
We thank Almighty God for loaning 'Teacher Mayglen' to us..We will keep the family and friends in our prayers.



Teacher  Meglen  you will forever be in our memory, I'm truly going to miss talking with you, from talking to her I knew she was looking forward for that day when she will meet Jesus,  in the pass year everytime we spoke she would say I'm sick and tired of all that is taking place in the world,  I'm ready to go whenever the good Lord call me home, and I would always say dont say that and she would say my dear we all have to go one day, in our last conversation she said in a few months I'll be 94 if God spare my life, cousin Carl and Cousin Derick I know you both will miss your mom and I also know that you both are well please to now that you guys were always there for her, Carl Jr I know you are going to miss your grandma  more than anyone of the other grandchildren, to the church people as she would say thanks for everything you all have done for our Cousin she spoke well of her church people , we loved and will miss you Teacher Meglen May her soul rest in peace 💖

Condolences to the entire family of cousin Maglen. I remembered her visiting the home in Stewartville of her cousin Iva Chan and they would talk and share jokes and Laugh heartily.  I remember her powerful voice. She was strick yet loving. May her soul rest in Peace. From the Chans and Bovell family in Stewartville. 


Teacher Mayglen, as she was known by most, was my godmother. She was a kind and generous woman, and she will be missed by all who knew her, as all who knew her grew to love her.  As a 3 or 4-year-old in her kindergarten school on the lower level of her Middle Street Stewartville home, I knew her first as Teacher Mayglen. As I grew older and life became clearer, I knew her as was my godmother. Those kindergarten years were free to my mother who could not have afforded the costs, an act of generosity that I won’t forget. To me, those years were pivotal, “wildcane” and all, and they provided the foundation for my later achievements. That was only the first of many acts of kindness that she bestowed upon me over the years. 
Like her, I migrated and the two of us have not been in Guyana at the same time in many years, but her influence remained, shaping who I have become. When my family visited Canada in 2014, I took them to meet her; it was the last time I saw her.  She was still vibrant and I will hold onto that memory. When my mother passed in 2015, she was in Canada, but arranged for flowers to be delivered to our family in Guyana. To her sons and her nephew and their families, my sincere condolences.  My thoughts and prayers are with you. Take solace in the lives that she touched, the good that she did, and the fact that she is in a better place. May her soul rest in peace.

Death waits on no one, with a sad heart my family and I (Enid Miller and family) share the sorrow of your passing cousin Mayglen. Reminiscing on the good times we shared, the love, guidance, kindness, generosity, counsel, knowledge, it was a pleasure and it’s memorable. When we spoke last month I promised to call you back the following day I didn’t and thereafter you kept coming to my mind each day but I would say tomorrow I’ll do so, but God knows.  You will forever be in our hearts and may you rest well with the Lord our God until……May God comfort my cousins, their wives, children, great grandchildren and other relatives at this time of great sorrow and give you strength to go on.

Teach, thank you for your friendship, love and generosity that you have shown me and my family over the years. I will never forget our long talks and visits and That Cake which you always made for me at Birthdays and Christmases. I know it is Well with your soul.
