It is with great sadness that the family of John Michael Hoeller announces his passing. After more than a decade of living with Parkinson’s, he passed peacefully with his family by his side on September 12, 2019 at the age of 68 years. He is survived by his wife Nancy, son Christopher (spouse Jordan), daughter Elisha (spouse Keith), father Hans, brothers Michael and Peter (spouse Debbie) and his granddaughters Nash and Scotland. We are at great comfort knowing that “Johnny” will be reunited with his mother, Katharina in Heaven.
Known as a lover of the finer things in life, like a glass of wine or sherry, travel, tennis, chess, food, art and music, John would be honoured to share his favourite song with you. Please enjoy listening to the song “Gabriel’s Oboe” composed by Ennio Morricone from the movie The Mission: https://youtu.be/lDcvTYpQEuc. John continues to live on not only through the hearts and memories of his loved ones but also through his stunning oil paintings, charcoal drawings, and the many accomplished home renovations and projects that he completed through his lifetime.
Family though was truly the heart of John. He will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. John is remembered for always having loving words to say; that or something wildly outrageous.
A Celebration of Life will be held in memory of John on Saturday, September 21 from 1:00-4:00pm (drop-in) at the Olde Stone Cottage Pub located at 3750 Kingston Road, Scarborough (Kingston Road and Scarborough Golf Club Road). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Movement Disorders Clinic, Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Please visit John’s memorial page at http://support.tgwhf.ca/goto/JohnHoeller or call 416-603-5300.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.giffenmackscarborough.com for the Hoeller family.
