Janet Gay Booth

A beautiful soul has left us far too soon. Janet passed away peacefully at Scarborough Centenary Hospital on December 14th, 2023 in her 66th year. Janet will be deeply missed by her loving brothers Mark and Brian. She will also be missed by her lifelong friend and soulmate Robert Vlas with whom she spent countless hours in daily phone conversations. Also fondly remembered as "Aunt Janet" by her nephews Brian Jr. and his family, and William. Janet will be greatly missed by the many residents of Scarborough Wood Condos, who loved and supported her throughout her many years living there. Janet could often be found by the pool or in the library, where she would meet with building residents to chat and do jigsaw puzzles of 1000 pieces or more. Janet was an exceptional swimmer, sometimes able to do as many as 100 laps. She also loved watching and feeding the birds, and looking after her extensive “family” of always needy Cabbage Patch kids, who had to be regularly dressed in new outfits with matching accessories on a seasonal, if not monthly, weekly, or even daily basis. Predeceased by her parents James and Gwynneth. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Janet’s life will be held at Scarborough Wood at a later date.
