Fred passed away suddenly after a short battle with cancer on Monday, April 3, 2023, at age 73. Fred was predeceased by his wife Donna Schrank, who died in 2016. Father to Katie (Jamie) and Eric, and grandfather to Everly and Cameron. Brother to Joseph (Marion), Brother-in-law to Craig (Lori), and uncle to Jason, Tim, Colin, Justin, Nicole and Alexandra. He was a dedicated dog dad to the late Milo. He was predeceased by his parents John and Margaret, and in-laws Lois and Ron.
Fred spent his entire career working for Canada Post and retired with 37 years of service. He kept in touch with many colleagues over the years and was well-known for his basement postie parties in the 80s and 90s.
He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends, including the postie crew, hockey pals, nursing friends of his late wife Donna, as well as the Scranton neighbours and those he met on Milo’s walking route.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Prague Restaurant, 450 Scarborough Golf Club Rd, Scarborough. Please come dressed in your finest vacation wear.
