It is with great sadness that the family of E. Elizabeth (Betty) Easton (nee Chard) passed away peacefully in her 90th year, on Saturday May 30th, 2020. Loving wife of the late Donald F. Easton. Forever remembered by her children Cathie, Douglas (Trish) and Donna (Brad). Granny to her grandchildren Liane (Dave), Kristen (Mack), Marc, Willa and Geoffrey and great-grandchildren Lucas, Ellie and Vincent. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and treasured friends. She was known to many as Granny and will be dearly missed by them all. Betty was born in Toronto and was an active member in the Guildwood Community for all of her adult life. A graduate of the University of Toronto - Victoria College, She was a dedicated teacher in the Toronto District School Board, eventually retiring from Joseph Brant Sr. Public School in 1997. Betty enjoyed her involvement with her local church, Scarborough Bluffs United (Washington United), the UCW, Girl Guides of Canada, Trefoil Guild, University Women’s Club, and the Scarborough Music Theatre. She enjoyed her many summers at her family cottage in Arden, Ontario as well as her winter’s spent on the ski hill with “The Ski Group”. As an avid bridge player, she spent many enjoyable hours with the various bridge clubs she belonged to. Her true passion after retiring became her yearly trip and involvement with the Girl Guides/Girl Scout World Centre, Our Cabana in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Our Cabana was very important to her. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Our Cabana or Scarborough Bluffs United Church.
A celebration of life will be held once we are able to gather together. Always remembered, forever missed.
