It is with great sadness that the family of Derek Everton Baptiste announce his sudden passing on Sunday, December 11 at 2:33 a.m. Derek was born in Trinidad on June 11, 1967 and passed away at St. Joseph’s Healthcare in Hamilton at the age of 55.
Derek will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Joan Boyce; his stepfather, Stanton Boyce; his daughter, Jessica Besito-Connors; his grandchildren, Keyara Baptiste, Lillian Baptiste and Morgan Besito-Connors; his siblings, Jemma Baptiste, Richard Baptiste and Alanna Boyce; his sister-in-law, Nkenna Johnson; his niece, Letisha Baptiste; his nephews, Omar Baptiste and Nathaniel Baptiste and numerous other family members and friends.
Derek was predeceased by his beloved wife, Doreen Ann Baptiste and his constant companion and beloved dog, Lucy.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 10:00 – 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral Service at 12:00 p.m., at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Ave. East, West Hill, Ontario.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for donations to be made in Derek’s name to the Ontario SPCA & Humane Society.
