Donald R. Brouillette, 81 died unexpectedly, surrounded by his family on Friday, July 5th at Cape Cod Hospital. He was the loving husband of Michelina( Scappaticci) for 57 years. Don was born in Worcester and graduated from Commerce High School. He attended Clark University and served as a Corporal with the army during the Korean war.
After serving in the War, Don held many jobs which eventually led him to his passion in the automotive industry. In 1973, he moved to Harwich with his family, where he managed West Main Street Shell Station in Hyannis. He then managed and operated the West Harwich Shell Station for several years, until opening his automovitve business in 1980 with his son David.
Don Brouillette was the owner of Don and Dave's automotive in Dennisport where he worked for 33 years along side his son, David, and grandson, Eric, and many wonderful employees who became part of the family. He chose not to retire, working up until the day of his passing. He loved those he worked with and those he helped. He was devoted to his family, his friends, and his work. His presence at Don and Dave's will surely be missed by all that knew him. Don was an avid fisherman, boater, Gardner and lover of nature. Don was a mentor, friend, and father figure to so many in the community. Don was affectionately known as "everyone's father".
In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons, Mark Brouillette, David and his wife Kathleen Brouillette, all from Harwich and Kevin Brouillette and his partner Arthur Waller of Dennis, and two grandchildren, Eric and Emily Brouillette of Harwich, and several nieces and nephews. His parents and two sisters predeceased him in death.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 10:00 am at Holy Trinity Church, 246 Main Street,( Rte. 28), West Harwich, with a celebration of his life immediately following. Honoring his wishes of cremation, there will be no wake.
