Tom Beasley, 98, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at Grace United Methodist Church in Des Moines, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. A private burial will take place at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Tom was born January 12, 1920 in Des Moines to Benjamin and Irene (Adler) Beasley. He graduated from Trenton High School in Trenton, Missouri and Drake University. Tom also had a year of post graduate work at University of Iowa in mathematics. He was Executive Vice President of Equitable of Iowa, President of Beasley Farms, Inc., a member of Equitable of Iowa Board of Directors, E. I. Sargent Quarries, Inc. Board of Directors, Y-Men’s Club, Grace United Methodist Church, The Society of Actuaries, and Phi Beta Kappa. Tom won Drake’s D and Double D awards. He also served as a Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps during WWII in the South Pacific.
Tom is survived by his sons, Byron (Ann) Beasley of Mason City and Steve (Connie) Beasley of Urbandale; six grandchildren, Christen (Rod) Oskouian, Robert Beasley, Abby Beasley, Allison (Brad) Stadtlander, Meredith (Robert) Boesen and Tricia Beasley; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Janice Madden; sisters-in-law, Betty Bishop of Des Moines and Joann Sargent of West Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine; brothers, Ronald and Benjamin Beasley.
