Theodore N. Larsen

McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel & Mortuary & Resthaven Cemetery

Theodore "Ted" N. Larsen, 75, was called to his forever home on July 3, 2018 at his residence. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2018 at McLaren's Chapel in West Des Moines. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ashworth Road Baptist Church in West Des Moines with burial at Resthaven Cemetery.

Ted was born June 23, 1943 to Ellwood and Paulina (Nelson) Larsen in Des Moines. He graduated from Valley High School and went on to serve 25 years in the Iowa Army National Guard. Ted also worked for Meredith Corp. and RR Donnelly for over 30 years. He lived in Cumming since 1976.

Ted is survived by his wife, Vikkie, two daughters, Anne (Aeja) Schultz and Jo (Joseph) Keller; eight step-children; seven grandchildren; 25 step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jane; and sister, Marcia Mors.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Ashworth Road Baptist Church.

Ted is survived by his wife, Vikkie, two daughters, Anne (Aeja) Schultz and Jo (Joseph) Keller; eight step-children, Dewayne Hurst of Excelsior Springs, MO, Christina (Ben) Justus of St. Joseph, MO, Jim Hurst of Rockport, MO, Tammie (Richard) Sanders of Graham, MO, Vanessa Hurst of Tunas, MO, Pamela Elm of Greely, CO, Marcus Hurst of Kansas City, MO, and Tony Hurst of Burlington Junction, MO; seven grandchildren, Nathan, Morgan, and Kamryn Keller, Alizabeth, Karissa, and Brevin Quass, and Ayla Schultz; 22 step-grandchildren, Amber, Steven, Shauna, Charles, Shelby, Hannah Hurst, Angel, Ben, Krystal, and Adam Justus, Brett (Mackenzy) Henjes, Jimmy II, Patrick, and Jarred Hurst, Haley Hurst, Jaden and Lilly Anna Elm, Annika and Brooklyn Hurst, Mathias and Maci; and five step-great-grandchildren, Caleb Smith, Jalynn, Jeffrey, Bella, and Bentlee Henjes. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jane; and sister, Marcia Mors.
