Steve Morrison, 73, passed away suddenly on December 12, 2024, while on a winter road trip to Florida Steve was a longtime resident of West Des Moines, IA. As he wished, his body will be cremated. A family memorial service will be scheduled later in the spring.
Steve was the son of Lois and William “Bill” Morrison and was born in Illinois on April 10, 1951. The family moved around the Midwest several times during his first 18 years. Steve attended the University of Minnesota, graduating with both a Mechanical Engineering Degree and, subsequently, a Law Degree. During university, he joined the Triangle fraternity and enjoyed lifelong friendships with his fraternal brothers. Steve spent most of his professional career in the Legal Department at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, serving as General Counsel for many years. He retired in 2010.
Steve’s most precious and cherished accomplishment was his family. He was a wonderful husband, parent and grandfather and adored by all. He enjoyed woodworking and shared his time and love with his family by creating them cherished toys, art, and furniture.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Sue Morrison of West Des Moines; three children, Amy Marotz (David) of Stillwater, MN, William Morrison (Toni) of West Des Moines and Rorie Morrison (John Reagan) of Lake Elmo, MN; two grandchildren, Alexandra and Justin Marotz; two step-children, Stephanie Keisman (Stuart) of Grandview, MO and Andrew Axne (Laura) of Grandview, MO; and four step-grandchildren, John and Nathan Keisman, Elina and Isaac Axne; and last but not least, his beloved dog, Bailey.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, Bill; mother, Lois; and brother, Dan Douglas.
