Robert “Bob” Harper died peacefully with dignity and bravery on Saturday evening, January 26, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines with his family at his side.
Bob was born on June 17, 1929, to Howard and Emmogene Harper in Beebeetown, Iowa, he spent his early childhood growing up on a small farm in Harrison County. Bob attended Lincoln High School in Des Moines and he proudly served his country in the USMC from 1946-1951.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jane; daughter, Monica Post; son, Greg Helms; daughter-in-law, Nola Harper; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son, Tom Harper.
