He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1987.
Mark learned about the precious truths of Jehovah from his childhood onward, accepted these truths, and was baptized in June of 1987. Shortly thereafter in 1988 Mark entered the full time pioneer service. He had the privilege of attending Pioneer School in 1989. Mark and Brindi Perdue met as children at the Walnut Creek Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. After being friends for years Mark and Brindi fell in love and were married in February of 1996. They were devoted to each other for over 19 years.
Together they proudly welcomed two children into this world, Cody and Madison. Mark deeply loved his children. He would brag about Cody being the best person he ever worked with, how strong he was, and about the times they would golf together. He loved his weekly father-daughter date nights with Madison and would say to her, "This is my favorite day of the week!" Together they made memories that he always cherished. But most of all Mark worked hard to teach them to know and love the creator, Jehovah.
Mark was a loving, loyal, and romantic husband. Together Mark and Brindi shared a love for music, singing, dancing, playing the guitar and piano, and horses. They also shared a love for the mountains, especially the Grand Canyon, with one of their best memories being able to have family worship there.
Mark was far from ordinary. He was exceptionally positive, generous, loving, kind, hospitable, and outgoing. He would go out of his way to meet, greet, and compliment strangers everywhere he went. He was always there with a hand shake, smile, good word, and maybe even a hug. He loved opening his home to new ones.
As many of you know, Mark also had a lifelong love for golf. There was a twinkle in his eye and excitement on his face when even the word, golf, was mentioned. Mark would have played every other day if he could have, as he enjoyed being with friends, making new friends, and playing in tournaments with his spiritual brothers. It did not matter where he was, Mark wanted to golf.
Lastly, and most importantly, Mark was known for his love of Jehovah and a taste for the deep things of God. He would study for hours, ask Biblical questions, and visit with others about Jehovah, resulting in an interchange of encouragement.
Mark cherished his spiritual privileges. These included: assisting behind the literature counter, having meetings for field service in his home, working with the Regional Building Committee, praying on behalf of the congregation, and especially the privilege of reading the Bible and Watchtower articles at Christian meetings. Mark was a great source of encouragement to others, loyally praising Jehovah any way he could.
Mark died on May 19, 2015. He had a wonderful life, and was thankful to all who made it so, especially to his wife, Brindi, and their children, Cody and Madison. Mark had strong faith and hope in God’s promise of the resurrection and life in a beautiful earthly paradise. If he would have had a chance to say goodbye to you, he would have said with a big smile,
"I will see you soon."
