John S. Waggoner, 60, died at home. He has now gone “Full Circle” since the Pearly Gates opened on March 21, 2011 for him and his humor. The funeral will be held at West Des Moines Christian Church 4501 Mills Civic Pkwy. WDM 50266 at 10:30am Saturday, March 26, 2011. Visitation will precede the service at 9:30am to 10:30am. The body was cremated and will be placed in the Resthaven Mausoleum.
John had served as a board member, deacon and choir member of the West Des Moines Christian Church. While residing in Baxter IA, he was elected President of the Commercial Club (Chamber of Commerce) and volunteered as a State Certified EMT-A for the Baxter Rescue Unit.
He tirelessly helped over 100,000 customers over the phone while working in customer service. John and Lois started and then owned a wedding photography business for nine years. He opened a sub sandwich shop with his wife and son in the Merle Hay Mall Food Court. He would do endless research on the internet for friends and relatives. It was his nature to place their request at the top of his ‘To Do’ list, and reply with an answer in a few minutes. He enjoyed vacations on Mackinac Island, MI where his brother and sister-in-law own a business.
He enjoyed his hobbies, riding around the state or next too on his Honda Goldwing, watching NASCAR as his favorite drivers, Dale Jarrett, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Danica Patrick, Mario, Michael and Marco Andretti, Tony Kanaan, and Helio Castroneves. Another of interest was woodworking.
John was born in Webster City, IA to Don and Neva Waggoner. He is survived by his wife Lois (Irving) a son Jay and a brother Elwin (Carolyn) Waggoner of Brownstown, MI, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and friends. John will surely be missed but not forgotten.
