Jerry Lee Toft, 88, passed away October 3, 2024 in Des Moines. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 4, 2024 (his birthday) at McLaren’s Resthaven Chapel in West Des Moines with a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at McLaren’s. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Jerry was born November 4, 1935, in Belmond, IA to Thomas and Blanch (Ulstad) Toft. He graduated from Belmond High School in 1954. Jerry married Delores Gealow on January 11, 1957 and then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served four years at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. Following his discharge from the Air Force, he worked at Commercial Credit Collection Agency. He acquired specific skills there that gave him the ability to open/operate JLT Adjustment Service and retired after 40 years. His main hobby and passion was coin collecting which served as a side business and a source of fun. He also loved pheasant hunting as well.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 67 years, Delores; daughter, Angela; two grandsons, Austin and Cody; and brother, Ev (Judy) Toft. He was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
