Elizabeth Ann Thompson, 62, joined her parents and loved ones on September 17, 2022. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2022 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in West Des Moines with burial at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at McLaren’s Chapel in West Des Moines.
Beth was born March 19, 1960 to Mary and Wayne Thompson in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Iowa Methodist School of Nursing, and worked in the Methodist ICU for 15 years. She enjoyed garage sales and spoiling her beloved dog Sophie Lynn. Beth found the most joy in caring for people; cooking dinner for her parents, making deviled eggs for all of the big holidays, planting flowers with her mother on Mother’s Day, and attending the family reunions.
Beth is survived by her son, James Thompson of West Des Moines, IA; daughter, Emily Thompson of Denver, CO; brother, David (Kathleen) Thompson of Champions Gate, FL; and aunt, Mary Lou Simon of McAllen, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Wayne Thompson; and her daughter Amy Thompson.
