Connie Anderson, 69, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2010 after a lengthy illness at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at McLaren’s Chapel, 801-19th street, West Des Moines with burial at Resthaven Cemetery.
Connie was born October 11, 1940 in Waterloo to Loren Brewster and Dorothy Marie Stone. She graduated from East Waterloo High School in 1958. Marriages to John (Jack) Mihall and Harold Brokaw ended in divorce. She has been married to Ray Anderson for more than 30 years. Connie lived four years in Texas and most of her life in Windsor Heights. She worked as a legal secretary and administrative assistant for many years and did the bookkeeping for Anderson Auto Service. Connie loved gardening and fishing.
Connie is survived by her husband, Ray Anderson; daughter, Debbi Mihall of Gainesville, Florida; two sons, John Mihall of Mathis, Texas and Kevin Brokaw of Des Moines; two step-children, Dan (Beth) Anderson of Washington and Jene´e (Andy) Anderson of Des Moines; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sister, Cheryl Cross-Bushnell (Asa Bushnell) of Tucson, Arizona; three brothers, Bruce (Sherry) of Waterloo, Dean (Diane) of Oelwein and Rodney of Mabank, Texas; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and younger sister, Vicki Stone.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday at McLaren’s Chapel.
