Steve Ortega, age 38, of Weslaco, Texas passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020. Steve was born July 5, 1982 in Weslaco, Texas to Aurora Ortega Romo and Armando Ortega.

Steve is survived by his wife, Bernice Garcia; son Brayson Steve Ortega; mother Aurora Ortega Romo and father Armando Ortega; brother Michael Ortega and brother Peter Jake Ortega; nephew Peter Jake Ortega Jr., nephew Tommy Ortega, nephew Ethan Anthony Elizondo: niece Amanda Abigail Ortega and Maternal Grandmother Juanita Romo.

Steve was preceded in death by brother Armando Ortega.

Visitation Services for Steve will be held Friday, August 7, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Prayer Service at Funeraria Del Angel Highland Funeral Home located at 6705 N FM 88 in Weslaco, Texas. A Mass will be held Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Weslaco, Texas followed with the Entombment at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers are Peter Jake Ortega, Jose Luis Garcia, Gilbert Gaytan , Mark De La Garza , Michael Martinez , Johnny Reyes and Sie Garcia.
