Santiago Olvera, age 61, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024 in Lexington, Missouri. He was born to Hortencia Gallegos Zuniga and Genaro Olvera Garcia on July 25, 1963 in Tula,Tamaulipas, Mexico. Santiago enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboy games, reading the Bible and listening to Billy Graham. As a child, he enjoyed playing soccer and riding bulls. Santiago was a hardworking man, who never gave up and took great pride in being his family's provider. He worked as a crew leader at Coreslab Structures for many years. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Alicia Olvera; his step-daughters whom he raised as his own: Tylene Ramirez and Victoria Rodriguez; granddaughters who he raised as his own daughters: Alicia Garcia and Naomi Lee Gutierrez and step-son Gabriel Rodriguez Jr; although he didn't raise him, still loved him dearly like his son. Survivors also include his siblings: Imelda Olvera Gallegos, Virgilio Olvera Gallegos, Lazaro Olvera, Fidel Olvera Gallegos, Perla L. Martinez, Mireya Ramirez & Martha E. Olvera.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 10 am til midnight with a prayer service at 7 pm at Funeraria del Angel Highland in Weslaco. Visitation will continue Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM. A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 1 pm at Calvary Christian Center, 3616 E Business 83, Weslaco, TX followed by the interment at 2 pm at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco. Family has prepared to share a meal and memories at Los Amigos del Valle, 1408 Silver Ave, Donna, TX; those who have the opportunity to join them are cordially invited.
