Rafael is survived by his loving wife, Diana Guzman; his son David Lee Guzman (Dora); his daughter Lisa Guzman Avila (Aaron); and his son Rafael Guzman Jr. (Priscilla); his 3 grandchildren David Lee Guzman Jr., Joshua Lee Guzman and Katelynn Isabelle Guzman; he will also be missed by his surviving siblings Ester, Raquel, Genia, Tencha, Ninfa, Felipe, Hector and Minnie and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rafael was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren, Leslie, Lexi and baby Chestnut.
Rafael was a loving and caring husband of 48 years. He was the greatest father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He always put his family first no matter what, you could always count on him. Anyone who spoke to him knew he had a great sense of humor and was the life of the party. He loved being outdoors in the yard, spending time with his dogs, goats horses and family. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
A visitation for Rafael will be held Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel HIghland, Weslaco, TX 78596. A funeral mass will occur Friday, April 1, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 910 Watts Ave., Progreso, TX, followed by the interment at 1:00 PM at Highland Memorial Park, Weslaco, TX 78596
