Pastor Arcadio was born January 10, 1956, in Mission, TX, to Anita and Arcadio Peña Sr. He is preceded in death by his parents. Arcadio is survived by his wife of 38 years; Rosie T. Pena, his two children: Jordan A. Pena and Marcelina Marquez (Juan Carlos) and his two princess granddaughters; Zailee and Zaralina Marquez. He is also survived by his siblings; Daniel Pena (Soledad), Anita Rosel, Nora Ontiveros (Robert +), Gracie Hobbs (Bryan+), Viola Pena and numerous nieces and nephews.
Arcadio Pena pastored Victorious Life Temple in Mcallen, TX, for 37 ½ years. Pastor Pena made it his goal to grow the church, both spiritually and physically. During his tenure, he mentored several ministers that eventually became pastors, counseled marriages, preached salvation, discipled and loved his congregation. He was a Pastor with a youthful spirit that easily related to the younger generation while compassionately honoring those in their golden years.
He was an advocate for Pastors, serving for 18 years as Bishop Supervisor of the South Texas Churches within the Apostolic Assembly of the Faith in Christ Jesus organization. He was a leader with integrity and friend to rely on.
Bishop Arcadio Pena Jr.’s greatest legacy is not the buildings he helped construct, but the people of his congregation, his beloved wife of 38 years, his children and the granddaughters that he adored. He was a wonderful Bishop and Pastor, but he was an even better husband, father, and poppa: his greatest titles. He always preached family first and embodied the words he spoke. He taught his children to love the Lord, love His people and to love working for the Kingdom. “Honor the past, faithful in the present, and committed to the future.”-Pastor Arcadio Pena Jr.
