Wanda J. Davidson, age 73, a native and resident of Welsh was called home by God on Monday, December 28, 2015, after suffering a stroke. Wanda had a deep love for God and was Catholic by faith. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. Wanda was a member of the Catholic Daughters and Ladies Altar Society. After many years of devoted service to the family clothing store, Wanda and her sister Kaye Kaye ran a daycare for 25 years. Wanda never had children of her own, however the love and care she showed to “Her Kids” will forever be a part of those little lives she so influenced. Wanda was always surrounded by a great circle of friends with whom she shared a fondness for card playing.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Barbara Richard and brother-in-law, Raymond, both of Welsh, Sister-In-Laws: Jane Davidson and Geraldine LeBlanc. Wanda is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and children who loved her.
Visitation will commence at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The Rosary Recital will be at 5:30 p.m. The visitation will continue on Thursday at the funeral home at 8:00 a.m until 10:30 a.m. procession time. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Welsh at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Father Alan Trouille will be the Celebrant. The Committal Service will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Welsh.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; Percy Davidson and Anna Mae Davidson, Brothers; J.P., Tommy, Dickie, and Donald Davidson and one sister, Mary Kaye Davidson. Words of Comfort may be shared at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
