On the early morning of Thursday, September 28, 2023, GOD whispered to Minister Kay F. Hill and told her that her mission here on earth was complete and she then entered the pearly gates of heaven.
Minister Kay F. Hill 79, was the second child born on December 9, 1943 to Joseph and Clara Lemell in Welsh, LA. She attended Bethune High School and was a 1961 graduate. Minister Kay later married Ralph Hill and to their union four daughters were born. After retiring from the military life they moved back to Welsh to make it their home.
Minister Kay joined the church at an early age which made her a strong believer in their children and grandchildren studying the word and attending church themselves. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Jerry Jackson, served on Pastor Aide Committee and was a member of the Mission Department. On March 21, 2017, Minister Kay preached her first sermon after accepting her calling into ministry. She had a very special calling which was praying with and for anyone that needed. Her door was always open and her love was felt when you entered in. Throughout her lifetime she was employed with Welsh General Hospital, Oak Park Care Center, Jeff Davis Park, Jeff Davis Parish Schools and Jennings American Legion Hospital.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory four daughters, Rosalind Hill (Billy Thomisee) of Welsh, LA, Rosa (David) Castille of Missouri City, TX, Rafaella (Melvin) Miller and Rakisha Hill (Cornelius Sonnier) of Lake Charles; one step son, Conald Hill, Sr. of San Antonio, TX; twelve grands, Rakeitha, Brian Jr. (Dana), Edwynn Sr. (Darinka), Kylin, Kennon, Kerric, Joel Jr., Eshonna (Dallas), E’Terris, Armanti, Victoria, Conald Jr.; eighteen great-grands, Dataviah, Derrick Jr., Kobe, Maci, Maddox, Edwynn Jr., Emilia, Emmanuel, Kyvorian, Kylah, Elijah, Emberlyn, London, Landon, Davina, Evie, Lilly, Trey; two great great-grands, My’kelia and Icelynn; two Brothers and two sisters, Earl (Mary) Lemell of Lake Charles, Ruth Bolin of Los Angeles, CA, Joseph Lemell and Jacqueline Pitre of Welsh and seven Godchildren, Garland Joseph, Kristi Nelms, Arthur W.
