Welsh - Harry Lee Allemand, 70, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013 in a local hospital.
He was born in Elton, LA on November 2, 1943 to Alicia and Antoine Allemand. He was a 1964 graduate of Welsh High School and a very devoted member of Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. He was recognized as "Male Parishioner of the Year" in 2012 and was also a Minister of Hospitality. Harry will always be remembered as the dedicated "John Deere Man." He spent all his time away from work or church with family, camping or fixing anything, especially lawn mowers. He was a man that loved to pass his knowledge onto his daughters, son-in-laws and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Lynn Pierce Allemand; daughters, Pamela Allemand Yeates and husband Sam; Sharon Allemand Guillory and husband Darren; Karen Allemand Peacock and husband Kevin; sister, Jo Ann Allemand Benoit; grandchildren, Turner, Lynzie, Devon, Derrek, Dustin, Kristyn, Kyle, Kaylee and great grandson, Pierce. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antoine and Alicia Jolie Allemand and his brother, Rene Allemand.
His service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 9, 2013 at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church. Father Herbert May will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:40 p.m. and a prayer service following at 7:00 p.m. and resume Monday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh.
