She was born July 25, 1924 in Branch, Louisiana to Andrew Johnson and Alice Prather-Johnson. Edith was a graduate of Welsh High School, a member of the Catholic Altar Society. She was the most patient loving mother and grandmother “granny” to ALL and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was well known for her cooking and baking and did so with such passion, especially her crawfish bisque.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Alice Johnson; her loving husband, Woodrow L. LeJeune and by her son, Charles LeJeune and by eight siblings.
Left behind to treasure her beloved memory are her children, Judy Ezelle of Sulphur, LA, Linda Chaisson of Lafayette, LA, Timothy LeJeune and wife Paula of Pine Island, LA and Thomas LeJeune and wife Jeannette’ of Pine Island, LA; sister, Jeanette Manuel of Sulphur, LA; sister-in-law, Ruth Johnson of Iowa, LA; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh with burial following in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery of Elton. Visitation will be held Monday, September 11, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh.
