Condolences to Mike's family on his passing.  I first met Mike in 1962 when I was a freshman at Mississippi State Univ.  Mike was a sophmore and we met while living in old Moore Hall on campus.  He had come down from West Hartford, Connecticut, thinking that MSU was Ole Miss (Univ. of Miss.), a univ. in the news for having two of its co-eds (Maryann Mobley & Linda Lee Mead) win back-to-back Miss America contests. He told the story of asking "where are all these beautiful Miss America girls?...only to be told, 'son, you have made a terrible mistake...' as Miss. St. U.  was a school of 5,000 men and 50 professors' daughters.  Mike was a great raconteur and stayed for 2 1/2 yrs. He became easily recognized as he was the only student with long hair and beard.  The story goes that he once attended an all black church and upon entry was mistaken by the congregation as Jesus returned, creating quite a commotion.  He got cross-threaded with the local police chief and was asked to leave the Univ.  Great guy, Mike.  Looks like he lived a full and exciting life.  Again, condolences on his passing.  

Mike and Marta have been the highlight of our last 15? summers on the Cape. Their warmth towards my family and special needs son David, and affection towards each other, were obvious in every gesture. We also enjoyed meeting other family members in small interactions and loved how Mike/Rusty generated new ambitious projects. My entire family will grieve the passing of this beautiful man.  Sincerest condolences to his family and friends. 

You are so missed, Rusty! Thank you for all the beautiful memories and for always being there for me, I am so grateful for the time we shared. It's hard to pick a favorite memory, between teaching me to fish down at the Keys and how to properly eat a lobster up at the Cape! I will keep those life lessons with me forever. I love you very much!

Thank you Rusty for along with my aunt Arelys taking a good care of me. You for me meant more than a father. You will live in my heart for always. I will forever love you and miss you.
