She was the widow of the late Bob Dutra, who died in 2017. At the time of his death, they had been married for more than 69 years.
She leaves a son, David Dutra of Pittsfield and a daughter, Sherry Dutra and her partner, David Ayotte of Hudson, NH. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Bernice Packett of Winter Haven, FL, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was pre-deceased by her parents Domingo and Louise (Enos) Malaquias; her sisters and their husbands, Kay and Elmer Silva, Louise and Herman DeSilva, Pat and Fred Shaw; her brothers and their wives, Dom and Jean Malaquias, and Paul and Pat Malaquias; and her brother-in-law, Manuel Packett.
Clarice was born in Provincetown on October 9, 1927, where she lived until her marriage to Bob in 1948. They lived in North Truro for their entire married life and enjoyed 27 winters in Winter Haven, FL after the family business was sold. She graduated from Provincetown High School in 1945. Clarice was a mother and homemaker.
In her earlier years, Clarice was an avid member of candlepin bowling leagues in Provincetown, along with her sisters. She loved to walk, read, knit, do crossword puzzles, and travel. She especially loved living on Cape Cod where she could be by the ocean.
The family would like to thank Wingate Residences at Melbourne Place in Pittsfield for their outstanding care and support since August, 2021.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 5th at 11:00 am at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Provincetown, followed by interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery. At Clarice’s request, there will be no visiting hours.
