On November 15, 2020, Urlina Pascua Nuval passed away peacefully at age 74. She was born in Guimba Nueva Ecija Philippines on May 28, 1946. Her name was derived from joining her parents name (Urbano + Rosalina) to form her name URLINA. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and worked as a 4th grade teacher for 39 years before she retired as a Master Teacher II. Lina enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, and listening to songs from the 60’s and 70’s.
Lina loves music. She was part of the Teacher’s choir group and she also taught plectrum instruments (rondalla/bandurria) to elementary students. She values the power of education in changing lives and the key to getting out of poverty. Lina was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories before her mental health declined. She survived COVID-19 but succumbed to the debilitating effects of progressive dementia.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Antonio Nuval in May 1994, her parents (Urbano Pascua in May 1986 and Rosalina Pascua in November 2007), and her sister (Gladys Forward in March 2020).
Lina or much known to many as Lola Mommy will be lovingly remembered by her two sons Ronald (with wife Jerusa) and Marvin (with wife Liza); four grand children Vanessa, Veronica, Mack, and Paul; her siblings Anuelina (Arcadio) and Recto (Angelita); and a host of nieces and nephews and other family and friends who she loved so dearly.
